Without a valid MOT, your car insurance and road tax become invalidated and your car may not be road worthy. Therefore, it is important that you make sure your MOT certificate is in date and you book your next MOT before your current certificate expires. You can do this up to one month before the end of your current MOT certificate.
An MOT certificate can be obtained up to 1 month in advance of expiry of the previous certificate and will be valid for 1 year from expiry of the previous certificate. We charge the national rate set by VOSA and will fit wiper blades, bulbs and adjust your headlight aim, without charging extra labour. We offer a reminder service for MOTs, please make sure your details are correct on our files.
LS Motors Ltd is an official Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) test centre, approved to carry out MOT tests on Class 4 and 7 vehicles including; petrol, diesel, dual fuel, hybrid and electric vehicles.
Class 4 includes cars, vans up to 3 tonne, most 4×4’s and camper vans. Class 7 includes vans from 3 to 3.5 tonne and 4×4 pickups over 3 tonne.
You can drop off your vehicle and we will perform the MOT test during the day. We will inform you when the test is completed and ready for collection.
Alternatively you can book an appointment and wait in our reception area while the test is carried out. MOT tests run hourly from 8am through to 5pm Monday to Friday.
In the event of a minor failure, with your permission, we will try to repair the fault with the view to passing the vehicle the same day. Typical minor failures include bulbs, wiper blades etc.
In the event of any other failure, we can give you an estimate to carry out the repair work. We will arrange with you a convenient time for the repairs to be carried out.
When carrying out MOT failure work we automatically carry out the retest at the end of the repair. This retest is free of charge (subject to the retest occurring within 10 working days of the original test).
